Adding a Custom Domain

Step-by-Step Setup
1

Open Project Settings

Go to your project and click Settings in the top navigation.

2

Add Domain

Click Add Domain and enter your domain (e.g., www.yourdomain.com).

3

Configure DNS

Add the provided CNAME record to your domain's DNS settings.

4

Wait for Verification

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours. We'll notify you when it's ready.

DNS Configuration

For Subdomains (www.example.com)

Add a CNAME record:

TypeNameValue
CNAMEwwwyour-project.looops.ai

Tip: The "Name" field might need just www or www.yourdomain.com depending on your DNS provider.

For Root Domains (example.com)

Some DNS providers support CNAME flattening. Check if yours does:

TypeNameValue
CNAME@your-project.looops.ai

If not, we recommend using www and setting up a redirect from the root domain.

Redirect Root to WWW

Most domain registrars offer forwarding:

  1. Go to your domain registrar
  2. Find "Forwarding" or "Redirect" settings
  3. Forward yourdomain.comwww.yourdomain.com

This ensures users reach your site from both URLs.

SSL Certificates

Automatic SSL

Once your domain is verified:

  • SSL certificate is provisioned automatically
  • HTTPS is enabled by default
  • Certificate renews automatically before expiration

No action required on your part!

Force HTTPS

By default, HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS. This ensures:

  • All traffic is encrypted
  • Better SEO rankings
  • Trust indicators in browsers

Troubleshooting

Domain Not Verifying

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours. If it's still not working:

  1. Double-check the CNAME value is exactly as shown
  2. Ensure there are no conflicting A records
  3. Try a different DNS lookup tool to verify propagation
SSL Not Working

SSL provision usually takes 10-15 minutes after domain verification. If it's not working:

  1. Wait a bit longer (up to 1 hour)
  2. Check that you're using HTTPS in your browser
  3. Contact support if the issue persists
