SEO Checklist

Every item the Looops SEO check grades, one line each, with what it means and how to fix it. Titles, descriptions, sitemap, robots.txt, share previews, business details, headings and AI assistants.

This is everything the SEO check looks at, one line each. You rarely need to fix any of it by hand: many items are done for you at publish, and the rest have a Fix with Looops button in Growth → SEO.

Done for you means Looops adds it to every site when you publish.

Page basics

Every page
  • ✅ The page loads: every page in your page list answers, with no error.
  • ✅ Not the starter page: the homepage is your site, not the empty page every new project starts with.
  • ✅ Language set: each page says which language it is in, so Google shows it to the right people.
  • ✅ Mobile setting: each page tells phones to show it at their own width.
  • ✅ Language versions linked: on a multilingual site, each language version points to the others. Done for you.

Can Google list it

Nothing blocks Google
  • ✅ No "do not list" tag on a page you want in Google.
  • ✅ Each page is its own main address (canonical), so Google does not treat pages as duplicates. Done for you.
  • ✅ Real text in the page: what Google reads before any script runs, not an empty page filled in later.

Rules for search engines

robots.txt
  • ✅ A robots.txt file exists and lets Google in. Done for you.
  • ✅ AI assistants allowed: ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can read the site. Done for you.
  • ✅ Points to your own page list, not another site's.
  • ✅ Private pages kept out: login, admin and account pages. Done for you.

Page list

sitemap.xml
  • ✅ A sitemap exists and is valid. Done for you.
  • ✅ Lists every public page, on your own address. Done for you.

Titles and descriptions

What shows in Google
  • ✅ Every page has a title: the blue link people click. Done for you when a page has none.
  • ✅ Titles of a good length: about 30 to 60 characters, so Google does not cut them off.
  • ✅ Every page has its own title, not the same one on every page.
  • ✅ Every page has a description: the text under the link, about 120 to 160 characters.
  • ✅ Every page has its own description.

Fix any of these with one click, or in chat:

"Give each page its own title and description"

Share previews

Links shared on WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and X
  • ✅ A preview image, title and description for shared links. The image is done for you.
  • ✅ The preview image loads.
  • ✅ A preview card for X.

Business details for search engines

Structured data
  • ✅ Business details on the homepage: your business name, address, phone and hours, in the format Google reads.
  • ✅ Written correctly, so Google does not ignore it.

"Add business details for search engines to my homepage"

Page content
  • ✅ Headings in order: one main heading, then sections, without skipping levels.
  • ✅ Image descriptions (alt text) on your images.
  • ✅ Enough text: pages that explain what you offer, not a few words.
  • ✅ The main content is marked, for screen readers and AI assistants.
  • ✅ No broken links between your pages.

AI assistants

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity
  • ✅ An llms.txt file: a short guide to your site for AI assistants. Done for you.
  • ✅ AI assistants allowed in robots.txt. Done for you.

Google tags

Google Analytics
  • ✅ No old Google code left in the site once Looops adds Google Analytics for you. See Google Analytics.

Speed

Phones and computers

Google measures how fast your homepage loads on phones and computers, from 0 to 100. Large images are the most common reason for a slow site:
